I am Humberto Lorenzo Garayar Peceros, a Medical Doctor and member of the Epidemiology of Disability Research Group (EpiDIS). My academic and professional work focuses on the study of the social determinants of health and their impact on diverse populations, with a particular emphasis on disability and its implications for public health.
My research aims to understand the individual, social, and structural factors that influence access to healthcare services and quality of life. By applying epidemiological methods and data analysis techniques, I seek to generate scientific evidence that supports the design, implementation, and evaluation of more equitable, effective, and context-specific health interventions.
My primary research interests include the relationship between disability and access to healthcare, rehabilitation services, food security, and access to medicines. I also have a strong interest in applied public health research and medical education, as well as in the clinical fields of cardiology and nephrology, integrating these disciplines within a multidisciplinary framework to improve the quality of healthcare and population health outcomes.
